Electronic dance music, often simplified as EDM, (occasionally referred to as electronica or dance) is a form of electronic music which is meant to be danced to. And is totally different comparing to tradintional music made by musical instrument.

EDM就是電子音樂，當然就是用電子樂器產出的音樂，是用來讓人跳舞的音樂。與用傳統樂器製作的音樂截然不同。

As a genre, it is generally up-tempo music created by electronic software and machines, such as synthesizers, drum machines, keyboards, samplers, sequencers and computers. 電子音樂有很多不同的形式與風格，通常是由電子軟體與機器製作的快節奏音樂。使用的樂器如聲音合成器，鼓機，鍵盤，取樣器，定序器，以及電腦，因此也有用techno來形容電子音樂

 

EDM can be traced back to 1970s. The song which has been credited as bringing EDM into mainstream popular music is Madonna's 1998 single "Ray of Light"

電子音樂的起源可以追溯到1970s，但真正讓她成為主流音樂的是madonna1998的Ray of light.
